Keeping the Toyota MR2's Heart Pumping Strong

The Toyota MR2 was introduced in 1984 as a compact, rear-wheel drive mid-engined sports car that aimed to be both fuel-efficient and exciting to drive. The second-generation SW20 model, introduced in 1989, featured more rounded styling, bigger engines, and an improved suspension/chassis setup.

The MR2 GT-S was a special turbocharged model sold only in Japan, with 218 hp from its 3S-GTE engine. Along with its unique driving dynamics, the SW20 MR2 became well-known through Japanese car culture, appearing in video games and driven by a character in the anime Initial D.

The turbocharged 3S-GTE engine provides smooth, powerful performance, and the mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout offers an engaging "go-kart" driving experience. As one of the later "Revision 3" models, this MR2 benefits from improved power steering and rear suspension compared to earlier versions.

We recently performed a thorough engine coolant flushing and refilling service on this MR2 to ensure optimal cooling performance and prevent any issues. Our team of technical specialists is committed to providing the highest quality care for your vintage and performance vehicles.
